| Those who visit the River’s Edge are sure to appreciate and enjoy the building, its history, and extensive and thoughtfully created gardens. Inspired by its character, beautiful location and humble origins, over the past eleven years we have worked to transform the building and surrounds, bringing our vision into reality. The area is rich in colourful history and scenic beauty, and within the major trout fishing areas of Tasmania. The property offers magnificent views to the Great Western Tiers and relaxing walks or cycling along the river – a river rich in native wild life including platypus. The River’s Edge sits within 1½ acres of gardens with river frontage and farmland surrounds. The gardens are highly acclaimed for their diverse selection of plants, layout and design. Built in 1855 from local brick and timbers, the building has been sensitively renovated and enhanced. The history, originality and character of the building have been carefully retained, with the resulting ambiance warm, welcoming and relaxing. With delightful views from its many windows and doors, terraces and decks, this wonderfully rejuvenated property is an idyllic, private setting for your special event. You can have your pick of various settings:
This magnificent venue can also be arranged to accommodate more intimate areas for smaller events. The River’s Edge Venue is a strictly non-smoking venue. |
